The first annual Rattlesnake Resolution Run held at the Rattlesnake Elementary School was attended by 275 runners and walkers, who resolved to start 2012 off with a fun and active event! The weather stayed mild for an early January morning in Montana, and the biggest obstacles to overcome were some slick sections of trail and road. Being the first annual Resolution Run all winners set course records! Andy Drobeck (35:23)and Trisha Miller (39:24)dominated the field for the 10k event while the 5k was won by Steve Weiler (21:40) and Jess Giuliani (22:42). There was also an abbreviated 5k due to the 1st 9 runners being misdirected on the course. The winners of the abbreviated 5k were Tristan Baker (13:47) and Caitlin Stone (15:15).
After the race, runners and walkers enjoyed a post race soup feed in the school cafeteria along with festive Music by the Blue Mountain Music Makers. We look forward to this event in the years to come as a Missoula tradition. Thanks to everyone who participated and volunteered their time. Here is to starting 2012 off on the right foot!
